Autonomous Coupling System

Multi-degree-of-freedom mechanical architecture for blind docking between tractor and trailer, handling pitch variation, misalignment, packaging limits, and real-world constraints.

Autonomous Blind Mate Connector System

Blind-mate robotic connector for autonomous yard tractors, designed to transfer pneumatic and electrical services between tractor and trailer without manual hookup. A compact over-center latch releases from its keeper while simultaneously guiding, capturing, and clamping onto the incoming connector.

Robot Arm End Effector

A robotic end effector designed to interface directly with standard glad hand couplings on commercial trailers. Mounted to a six-degree-of-freedom arm via a tool changer, it functions as the tractor-side half of the glad hand connection. The design simplifies robot path planning by requiring only a linear approach, eliminating the need for a coordinated twisting motion. An internal actuation mechanism then articulates the body to lever into position and generate seal compression. This enables reliable docking with existing trailer hardware without requiring modifications to the trailer fleet.
